Sorry for all those experiencing this glitch.
Guess I got lucky in not seeing it, or it depends on hardware, the most stable graphics drivers so far here are from Windows update.
But now that I look at the screen more carefully I do notice some differences with the Win7 laptop.
It does seem to have something to do with pixel anti-aliasing, clear-type...
I once had something similar in looks: the screen resolution was 1360x768 instead of 1366x768 (native) and so 6 pixels in the difference made a lot of pixels blurry because they were divided in the width. This is basic compared to the issue in the OP that relates to native resolutions, which should provide crisp clear images already.
