Microsoft Employees Fired Over Windows 8 Leaks

Two full timehttp://www.winrumors.com/two-micros...eed&utm_campaign=Feed:+WinRumors+(WinRumors)# Microsoft Employees have allegedly had their employment terminated due to Windows 8 leaks.
Microsoft’s next-generation of Windows, named 8 internally, is currently in development and has seen a large amount of leaks recently. Several builds have been made available on file sharing websites thanks to leaks from inside Microsoft. Canouna, a well known leak tracker, is now claiming that two Microsoft employees have been fired due to the recent leaks:

Hmmn. Shame for these two guys and I note that the article is saying one guy in US and one in Russia. I always thought that the flood of W7 leaks we saw back in the day were semi-condoned, or at least ignored, by MS as it built a tremendous buzz for W7 and people snapped it up when it became officially available.
Hope this doesn't mean we won't get anymore leaks but a job with MS is something most folks wouldn't want to risk.

Win7 leaks where never condoned but those copys where not marked... this FBL builds where however and someone betrayed zukona trust with leaking them. This is why we wont get any beta builds from that side... and you all know how many builds we got from him... :(

Exactly. Someone decided a quick buck was better than the trust of one of (if not the) main source for leaks. We all have that individual to thank. It spread like wildfire after that and eventually led to the leak that got at least one of these employees fired

During the development of Windows 7, leaks were coming on a regular basis, many of us used them, and Windows 7 went on to be a great OS. Now Windows 8 is being developed, a few leaks come along, getting our attention, then the door appears to have been closed by the firing of 2 employees.

Being the cynic I am, I wonder if it is all part of the "master plan" to increase the appetite for Winows 8 builds and thus the RTM. Nothing says YES more than a NO.

I am somewhat confused that some of you salute people who obviously violated the terms of their employment contract. Next thing we will see is that such things like insider trading will be saluted. I think that people who violate the rules must be punished.

You commit a crime............You do some time!
WHS is spot on!
Those who have saluted and are using their insider info are just to get a jump start are just as guilty. IMHO
I have never prospered by cheating.

Then again the norm today is " if you ain't cheatin you ain't trying" just something I heard. Not necessarily my opinion. Small try at levity.:D

Heh heh. There were probably people out there who actually believed Coca Cola was going to kill off "Classic Coke" and started hoarding. Please! Like the world was going to all drink Cherry Coke!! No way!!

I am not surprised they were punished for their actions, i wouldn't expect any less for them then to lose their jobs, they signed an NDA which they clearly violated, and as much as i like seeing windows leaks, they shouldn't have done it to begin with.

I remember sitting at a soda fountain and drinking hand mixed cherry Coke and vanilla Coke...........................damn, I'm old.......I think I waiting for Windows -12.3 to leak at the time.

btw, when I said "Well, we salute those two guys!", I meant to say "Thank you for sharing while knowing that it'll cost your job and at the risk of doing some time inside".

Just to clarify.

It seems a bit hypocritical to hang around these forums, hoping for a look into the future, and then get self righteous about the guys who are laying their jobs on the line to steal us that glimpse.
Obviously they are betraying their employers trust but look who their employers are. It doesn't figure high as a "wrong" in my situational morality to give a few geeks a buzz. Doesn't figure at all in the great scheme of things.
Also, we should look at our own motivation for wanting to steal a march on Joe Average, who won't see Windows Eight until he buys a pc with it already installed.

When I was a kid we'd get Vanilla Cokes and other multi-flavored concoctions mixed by a "soda jerk" as they called the soda fountain workers then. I remember if we asked for more than 2 flavors we were charged extra. When Coke finally came out with Vanilla Coke I tried it. Once. So much vanilla as to be totally sickening. It would take a jaded 6 year old to drink that stuff!! Yuck!!

My favorites weren't the ones with Coke though. My 2 faves were Vanilla Raspberry and Raspberry Strawberry. For Vanilla Raspberry Strawberry it cost extra. Of course the fun part for a kid was telling the soda jerk exactly how much of each flavor to use. If there were more than 3 of us at once the guy got pissed every time!!

We need to mix a Windows 8 build with a leak to get back on topic and move forward with Windows 8 pre-beta testing...

....and then add a touch of cherry.
