Microsoft Edge update for 8.1

I have the Edge update and I don't have Edge. I turned off the MS Explorer (uninstalled/deactivated) and searched for updates and it's still there.
It says it's important so I wanted to check if it's ok to hide and ignore it. Thanks for your help.

If you don't want the new Chromium based Microsoft Edge to be installed by the update below, then it's safe to hide it if wanted.

It's considered an update since it replaces the old legacy Microsoft Edge in Windows with the new Chromium based Microsoft Edge.

Before this update, you could manually download and install the new Microsoft Edge if wanted.

This update is available now since the old Microsoft Edge will no longer receive support, and should be updated to the new version.
