Microsoft closes Windows 8 upgrade offer loophole

Microsoft now asks for a Windows 7 product key if you're trying to get the US$14.99 upgrade offer for Windows 8.

If you had been hoping to score an upgrade copy of Windows 8 Pro for cheap, even if you're not eligible for an ongoing upgrade offer, it's too late now.

Like is Microsoft don't know about it since day 1 , Balmer as only 1 objective, to show to the share holder than Windows sell well, wait they see the profits

Odd... I had to enter the product key when I registered. Then they emailed me a nice discount code.
