Metro 'MAIL' app and Yahoo problem

Using Windows 8.1. Yahoo opens automatically on my IE11 desktop when I start my comp. That account works perfectly, sending and receiving.........But when I use the Windows Metro app "MAIL", Yahoo appears together in a list with my Hotmail and AOL accounts. Recently Yahoo started showing "check my settings" under the Yahoo name. I have checked over and over again and the password and the user name and the email address are identical to the ones used on the Yahoo account that appears on the standard desktop. I verified 'username' and 'password'. Yahoo will no longer work from the Metro, but works from the standard Internet Explorer desktop. What can be done to fix this so both work, as they did up to two weeks ago? I made no changes to cause this that I know of.
