Hi! Shirley this must be simple! If I type "notepad.exe" into a command window and hit return, notepad appears. If I schedule "notepad.exe" to run in Windows Task Scheduler, when triggered, it runs in the background. Why? How can I make it appear? Using task Scheduler. Simply.

In the Task Scheduler, what account have you got running the task?

Is the account running the task the account you are logged into?

Cheers,
Jamie

Thanks Jamie!
Yes, I have entered the name of the logged-in account but I have since read that to cause the program to be interactive one must select "Run only when the user is logged on" So that solves my problem.
Now I need to find out how to get Task Scheduler to log me in from sleep! That seems to have an element of "Catch-22" to it if I need to be logged in to do it!

I have same problem, need to run task always, if I'm logon I want to see it. But run it also if not logon. How can I accomplish that?
Maybe creating two tasks and avoid a new instance if it's already running: Tried it on win7 x64 with one minute difference between tasks (starting first the Logon): It created two instances...
