This is my basic spread
prime contains a win 7 installation(active)
halo contains a win 8 installation(boot) and is a logical partition
What I need to do is:
format prime and combine it with halo , this will be my boot and active
keep logic and halo as it is an my logical drives
I cannot lose data in halo or logic.
how do I go about doing this .. pls help
just let me say this you would need to back up your data before you do anything ! because however you do end up achieving this, it's never safe to do it with out first backing up your data to another source

remember you need to backup data first nothing 100% when doing this king of stuff
you are going to format win7 ,so if there data on that it will ahve to be moved ,and then you would boot to win8 to format the win7 drive
so this part shouldn't be hard ,so you format prime ,then go right click on halo and choose to extent it, using the new space from prime .
keep logic and halo as it is an my logical drives

this part should be automatic ,should be what left after you do the first part .
now let me say this ,im no expert ,i have used disk manager to manipulate drivers before though
you can/should maybe wait for more input from other posters here ,so may suggest and better 3rd party software to achieve this .good luck
