Mail, Calendar and People Icons Gone from Start and Apps

Hi, running Windows 8.1 with all current updates, this morning my Mail, Calendar and People Icons disappeared from both Start and App screens, tried to reinstall but got a message that they are already installed on the machine.

I know they are still there because I have shortcuts on my desktop that will launch them but the actual tiles are gon....any ideas on how I can get them back.

Tried to search for them from the search box to right click and repin but it does not find them.

If you like, you could uninstall the app using OPTION THREE or step 3 in OPTION TWO below, then reinstall the apps via the Store.

Hi Shawn, thanks for the welcome and the quick response...

Before I uninstall I wanted to run something else past you....this happened while I was searching for a hidden file this morning, I obviously fat fingered something because when I came back to the machine all my desktop folders, files, etc. were gone...turned out they somehow were now hidden, change the attribute on the each one and they are all good to go now.

I have now also noticed there are other apps in both Start and App screens that are missing...is it possible that they are there just hidden, if so how would i unhide them.

That very well could be.

If you like, you could try doing a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened to undo and hopefully fix it.
