Lost Product Key for activation.

Hi guys,

I upgraded to windows 8 from windows 7, so not a clean install. I recently refreshed windows 8, and now it asks me for a product key. Unfortunately, I don't have any physical product key for it, and if I got an email, I don't think it exists any more. I tried the Belarc Advisor tool, but the product key it gave me doesn't work. I get frequent pop ups asking for the key at inconvenient times, so I'm hoping there's some other way I can recover the key.
