Solved Logged into Skype, now my entire windows login is changed

I used to log in to Win 8 with the name "User", which I like. When I tried to fire up Skype, my computer required me to make a Microsoft account, which I did. Problem is, now I log in with my real name and email address, using my MS account password.

I want to go back being "User" and logging in with a different password than for my MS account. How do I do this?

Hello bifftanner, and welcome to Eight Forums.

The Skype app requires that you are signed in to Windows 8 with a Microsoft account to be able to use it since Skype uses a Microsoft service.

What you did was switch your local account to be a Microsoft account in Windows 8 when you did what Skype requested.

If you like, you could switch your now Microsoft account back to a local account, but you will not be able to use Skype if you for reasons posted above.
