LOCKED OUT OF DELL LAPTOP

im stuck on login screen im only one that as acsess to a 2nd hand dell inspiron 1545 laptop i got as a very new user im self teaching myself, iv not got a clue how iv got in this mess not knowing wot i woz doing i cant get past login , i wanted get on cmd line but iv bin told use safe mode butim still unsure wot or how im doing any help is welcome + needed i didt get the reset disk , How do i bypass the login scrren ?
