How are you getting DragonNest to work?

The hackshield stops it from working on my (and AFAIK everyone else's) version of Windows8...

I have the NA version of DN.
I don't really play it, but I used it to test my theory that all games with xtrap don't work with Win8.
All you did was Run as admin?

Actually, I Didn't Use Run As Admin, Its Just Runs Without Any Admin Mode Or Compability Options.

That's weird. I can't get mine to run, and any other game with xtrap still doesn't work x_x

Could you try and use another game with xtrap and see if it still works for you?

Gaming performance is slightly better here on 8 than 7 for me. 7 was already good to begin with....on 8, compared to parts of games on 7 that would just barely start lagging for me - well, it doesn't happen at all. So smoother and better I say.

Same drivers on both OS. Same defragmented HDDs etc...

Shogun2 will under no circumstance work in windows 8 if u install past a certain update

    This is my second laptop after my old notebook that broke because file system is corrupted and I can't recover it. And my Internet speed is super duper low in other countries. And my income is so low (US$200/month) so I don't have any electronic equipment except this laptop.

I too experience the better gaming performance in Windows 8 over Windows 7. I'd say anywhere between 15%-20% improvement in gaming performance over Windows 7, depending on the game.
