We are starting immediately, and by the time we launch our Windows 10 products, our standard image will only include the operating system and related software, software required to make hardware work well (for example, when we include unique hardware in our devices, like a 3D camera), security software and Lenovo applications. This should eliminate what our industry calls “adware” and “bloatware.” For some countries, certain applications customarily expected by users will also be included.

Lenovo is not the only "offender" most brand name MFGs do that. Some of the programs may have some purpose, like battery state notifiers, system resources, temp and other monitoring programs or something related to specific brand. Other programs like test versions of AVs or other apps that are so blatantly just adds are real nuisance. If they would just stick them in a folder with a link to their installation executables and clear explanations what they are and what they do, it would be easier to get rid of them if not needed. Most people do not like anything pushed on them so it's counterproductive even as an advertisement.

Or like IO[DEL]sh[/DEL]BIT does, for ASC most of the stand alone apps have to be/can be downloaded that way(PLEASE do not ask me how I know:eek:).

Neither Mike-In Windows 7 I experimented using a sandbox. I love to experiment and see how much abuse an OS can take before killing it, and if it's possible to repair it w/o tools or reimaging. I love hard puzzles or better yet when I was a kid I used to get my father to tie complicated knots and would unravel them. This carried over when I discovered computers.
