Latest Version of Malwarebytes

thanks for helping info
MalwareBytes is NOT AV, it complements AV, so it is used in addition to AV. I use it along with Windows Defender/Microsoft Security Essentials and I've been very happy with it, from an effectiveness and performance perspective.

New 1.75.0.1300 WHQL version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware released. See first post for more details. :)

I am still coming across machines that were affected by the April 15th Def File, But now I have streamlined a process for restoring and or in-place install. There have been no new problems along that line since it happened, but I really need to thank them, it brought me so much business the last month. I told them so, I told them, despite what happened, they are still top notch!

My MBAM always updates itself, or at least downloads the lasted build so I can install in on demand. It's the best Anti Malware there is, and their Anti Rootkit and File Assassin tools are used by me daily.

New 2.0 BETA version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware released. See first post for more details. :)

Ver 2 has new GUI. From download page copy ID and KEY. When installing 2.0, uncheck Trial and then install. On the first page at the top click on ACTIVATE and enter ID and KEY. Then do update and then scan. Soon after 2.0 goes final it will be a yearly subscription for 3/PC. The present Lifetime keys will still be honored and used on 2.0 so now is the time to buy them.

MB has said there will be 2 more Beta's this Month and Final planed for March. Here is a good deal on getting a Lifetime license for ver 1 and will transfer to ver 2. Code will expire on 2/13

New Beta version released yesterday and uses same download link. New version is 2.00.0.0503 and if you have 2.00.0.0502 installed it will update so no need to download.

The Beta version crashed today during an update. Here is the work around.

Also to reinstall use this procedure:

If you continue to have problems, then uninstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, remove the folder C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for XP users), reinstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and then update your database and it should now work correctly.

For those that were Beta testing and have 2.00.0.1000 RC-1 the final release is identical per MBAM. I also compared the hash on the install files and they are the same. Here is a list of the Known Issues:

The Scan names have changed:

1.75 ------------------ 2.0

Flash Scan ---------- Hyper Scan
Quick Scan --------- Thread Scan
Full Scan ----------- Custom Scan

A rootkit scan option has been added to all these scans but is off by default. There is a problem running the Custom Scan with rootkit selected as it can hang and lock up MBAM. The other scans work great with rootkit option selected.

Also on the Advance Settings if you click on Enable Self Protection Module it will take a few seconds for the click mark to show as it is turning on Charmeleon service and waiting for it to start.

I have been running it for the last 2 weeks on my 7 and 8.1 system and runs great.

MBAB 2 comes with Chameleon and on 8.1 there is an icon on the Start menu. When opened it shows 13 choices. They all run the same program but the names have been changed on each one to fool any malware.
