Yeah, it runs fine on Windows 8, but just not officially supported yet. :)

i have been a longtime user of kaspersky internet security since XP..windows defender + firewall is deemed sufficient by other members here for windows8 but i installed KIS anyway..im planning to use malwarebytes but is it much better than kaspersky?

Malwarebytes is not a replacement for Kaspersky. It is a special product that adds more protection and is designed to work with Kaspersky and other products.

'Zactly. I use it with AIS and now Norton 360 as extra protection.

I bought 5 licenses for MalwareBytes a few months ago for $18 and it was well worth it! I use MalWareBytes to clean up PC's if something gets past the AV. Good product and very reasonably priced!

also did you know each license has a lifetime upgrade as long as it is used for a home user

MalwareBytes is NOT AV, it complements AV, so it is used in addition to AV. I use it along with Windows Defender/Microsoft Security Essentials and I've been very happy with it, from an effectiveness and performance perspective.
