Avast 7 web shield if enabled effectively disabled Comodo Firewall.
Disabling web shield allows the firewall to function properly again.

Installed and working on WDP.

Issue with activation/registration though. It is a known issue, there is a thread on the Avast! Forums about it: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=93979.0

Until this matter is resolved, you can register by filling in this form: Register avast! Free Antivirus A reply, containing the key and instructions, will be sent to the email address specified. To install the key, open the main Avast! program and click on the
Maintenance tab and then the Registration sub-tab. Under Offline registration, click on Insert the license key and paste the key you have copied from the email you received. Clicking on Registration form takes you to the form I mentioned above.

Okay, after installing the 8 Preview on a virtual machine, I've got Avast up and running. Now someone tells me on another thread that 8 already had Windows Defender installed and I don't need Avast. Will I be having problems with these two conflicting, and does the newest version of Avast work well on Windows 8?
