Are you guys going to the "Microsoft Update Catalog" link in the first blue note box?

If you haven't already, you'll need to install the add-on when prompted at the Microsoft site to be able to download it.

New Realtek HD audio 6.0.1.7334 drivers available. See first post for more details. :)

Thanks Shawn! I've found with my laptop it is best to stay with the Realtek drivers provided by Acer because of the included Dolby sound. Causes strange things if I try to update only the Realtek drivers. Kills me because I'm anal about keeping drivers up to date.

I click the top link. I downloaded the file. I now have a cabinet file. Inside the cabinet file are a tone of .dll and .exe files. . . what am I suppose to do with these?

Extract all the files inside the cabinet file onto a folder and then install the Realtek audio drivers in Device Manager.

When I try this, it says I already have the latest driver, yet my driver is from August 2013.

Nevermind, I was looking at the wrong entry in Device Manager. I was looking at audio inputs/ouputs instead of sound controllers. Oops!

understandable error, pawlwawl06. a common mistake Windows 8 & 8.1 users make when using Device Manager. Always look in the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section of Device Manager and nowhere else.
Why not a Realtek drivers: Realtek
the Realtek drivers from the Realtek web site currently are version 6.0.1.7246. Microsoft has newer ones from Windows Update and the Microsoft Update Catalog sites

Do they come with Realtek HD Audio manager in control panel ?

Do they come with Realtek HD Audio manager in control panel ?
Yes they do. The only limitation of the Realtek HD Audio manager control panel program is that it does not work on Sony VAIO computers. It works on many other name brand computers like Acer/Asus/Dell/Gateway/Intel/HP/Lenovo/Panasonic/Toshiba

BTW, HP (Hewlett-Packard) users using HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC can obtain their version of the Realtek HD audio 7378 drivers from the HP site instead from Microsoft. I downloaded & checked the contents of their driver package and it contains both 32bit & 64bit versions of the 7378 drivers. Microsoft only has the 64bit version of the 7378 drivers.
