Latest NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers for Windows 8

Hi All
Not a knower of graphics but seek help...and apologies if covered elsewhere. I am quite new here so be gentle :)
I have Windows 8, with SyncMaster S23B370 LED Monitor and nvidia geforce GT620 card with latest released driver 306.97.
I get a black screen up to the pre login screen and the biggest problem is it wont come out of sleep and even out of turn of screen after 10min mode. I have got the screen to turn on after I turn the monitor off and back on at the touch button on the monitor. I have noticed quite a lot of hits on google for this but no real answers.
Any clues?
Thank a lot
Ray

Hi Dave44, This driver states that it does not support the geforce GT 610. Do you still think I should use it?
I did see this but it is not for my device.

Hey ,

I have one question, regarding Nvidia drivers.
I have Asus nvidia GT520 model.
Is there any difference or what is the best way, to install driver from Asus site , default driver is 306.23.
Or from nvidia site , which is 306.97.
Should i stay with Asus driver or should i install from Nvidia page ?
Any clues or tips ?

Thanks,
Best,
Matej

Well i have one problem, i just buyed brand new pc two days ago with i3 3.3ghz 8gb ddr3 ram and with GT 630 2gb ddr3 ram, and im using Windows 8 Enterprise 64bit as well, so my problem is early today i updated my graphic card drivers to 310.70 and after was done is asked me for a restart i did it.. and after the restart the windows 8 didnt want even to open is just showed up that blue logo of windows and then is stayed black page for like 20 mins, then is restarted himself again and again.. so i entered in to the safe mode, and do roll back on the drivers, and after that it was all fine. But how im supposed to do update now when i know is gona happen the same ? Is my frist time to use windows 8 so is different for me... Any help arround ? Thanks :)

This has happened to me before on previous operating systems with different video cards. It's good that you were able to roll back the problem drivers. I would use the drivers you have until the next version of the drivers come out and try again... Very common issue...

with nvidia I usually try to stay reasonably up to date but I won't move to each in every driver release because of issues like this.

I apply every update, but I'm careful to be sure I have a good restore point and have my system backup up-to-date in case something goes awry... My Radeon cards had a few driver update issues, too.

Yep, I like it when a company supports their products for as long as I use them! I just installed the new drivers and all is well, so far!

I think I might be dropping back down to 310.70 drivers as I've noticed quite a performance drop for my card using the 310.90 drivers. I've had about a 60% drop in performance if my math is right.
