I just installed the 335.23 drivers, custom install excluding the 3d Vision and GeForce Experience. No issues that I know of. It didn't prompt to reboot but I did anyway. Haven't tried playing a game yet but all seems OK so far. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro with the leaked update 1, this is just a FYI post concerning the 335.23 drivers and update 1. GT 640 with three monitors connected.

I have an old GeForce 6200SE Turbocache in an old Media Center HP pc. Is the best driver for Windows 8.1 307.74? I only play the old Return to Castle Wolfenstein, but I am getting some horrible FPS rates. under 20 at times with this driver. If there are any tweaks that I can mess with please let me know. Thanks for the help!

Thanks Popeye! I unfortunately? put 32 bit on my pc which has a Pentium D 2.8 processor and 2gb of ram. I intend to add 2gb to it. Is this driver for either, like the 307.74 driver was? Thanks again.

No you'll need the 32 bit version try these, NVIDIA DRIVERS 326.01WHQL

307.74 are the highest listed for your card on the NVidia site. Try the 326.01 at your own risk. I'd make a system restore point before you install them, just in case you have to go back to your current ones.

I will try that asap. I am sorry for my ignorance of drivers but are these drivers made by Nvidia or is this a secondary company that is making them? Is there any good in trying older versions of the driver? Just a thought. Thanks again!

Sorry, I tend to assume 64 bit since I've had it for quite awhile now. Do like alphamumeric says. And not to worry, they are legit NVidia drivers, just preview which they release to see if bugs are reported back. You may find they work great on your particular setup and maybe not.

Be sure to take some precaution first like he said. Please let us know how it goes.

The ones I linked too are direct from the NVidia web site. The link in the very first post in this thread, Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers will get you the 307.21 drivers. To get the 326.01 drivers I did a search on the NVidia site.

The 326.01 drivers aren't listed for your card, that's why I cautioned about creating a restore point. They may work fine, you won't know until you actually try them. Return to Castle Wolfenstein is one of my all time favorites. I've played the newer Wolfenstein too. :thumb:

EDIT: The latest drivers out are the 335.23, if your adventurous you could try those too. I would think the worst case scenario is a BSOD on boot or maybe just a black blank screen. Ideally they should just say no supported software found and not install. I haven't tried to install new drivers on old cards so I don't honestly know what will happen.

I will do a restore point first for sure. I just have to boot into safe mode if I get a bsod right? It is funny that in the 64 bit driver my card is supported but not on the 32 bit. Thanks again!

You can go here, Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers and up at the top where it says "Search NVidia" you can type in the driver version your looking for. If its a valid number it should find it.
