The link in the OP isn't very useful. It doesn't link to the latest SetPoint software, instead it just links to the support & downloads page.

I have an MX 610, which is supposedly supported by Windows 8 according to Logitech's FAQ, but if you drill down to the download page for it, it only offers SetPoint 4.8, which silently fails to install on Windows 8 (says it installed but didn't)...

A better link would be: Support + Downloads: SetPoint - Logitech

I just picked up the Touch T400 mouse and have a HUGE complaint about the 6.51 setpoint software. There are no button profiles. The mouse itself has a glide pad in place of the wheel so you touch for horizontal and vertical scroll. That is nice although so far not as smooth as a physical wheel....maybe just a learning curve.

There are also two buttons under the glide pad - one at the front and one at the back. So technically this is a 4 button mouse. Unfortunately the setpoint software only lets you configure two basic and useless options to these extra buttons - making them flip through apps or launch start. And, unlike the MS mouse software, you cannot set up specific profiles for games/programs. So if you setup a button as Start in Win8 it will always stay that way even when you are in a game or app where jumping to start is not an option you want at your fingertips.

So, just a word of advice, stay away from the T400 if you want anything other than a two button mouse with 4 way touch and a quick 'start' menu button. It technically has 4 buttons but is bare bones worthless for what Logitech lets you configure them for.

Thanks for the heads up.

I have the Zone Touch T400. I was hoping the update would allow me to customize the front and rear buttons under the touch strip to my liking. Unfortunately it does not.

Previously I could toggle the two touch strip buttons between only two option - "show start screen" and "flip apps". They have added a third option now and you can choose to toggle between desktop but still no options for "all apps", "charms" or "multitask bar"...all of which I would find more useful on my mouse.

Sadly I would not recommend this mouse to anyone. The "touch" is more of a useless gimmick that lacks the precision of a wheel and the rudimentary customization provides no advantage over a standard 3, 4 or 5 button mouse which can just as easily be configured to bounce to the Start Screen.

I noticed if I selected windows 7 it offered up 6.52, if I selected Windows 8 it offered up 6.6.

EDIT: I take that back, it offers up 6.52 for my M570 for Windows 8 and Windows 7.
If you go here though, Support + Downloads: SetPoint - Logitech and select Windows 8 you'll get 6.6. It's the link lotherius posted above.

6.52 is the highest version on their FTP site, ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/
I haven't tried to install the 6.6 yet, I'm on my Windows 7 desktop and only run 6.32 on that. I'm not sure I want to even try the 6.6 on my 8 laptop now? Anybody else download and install 6.6?

EDIT: ops, it looks like 6.6 is there on the FTP site its just not where I expected it to be in the list.

Tried 6.60 on my Windows 7 desktop. It hangs on shutdown waiting for something to close and the force shutdown list is blank. It does eventually shut down but its a good 8 second delay before it does. Same problem I had with 6.52. Back to 6.32 for me.

I tried 6.61.15 on my Windows 7 desktop. It still hangs on shutdown waiting for something to close and the force shutdown list is blank. The delay is now shorter but it still hangs for a couple of seconds. They keep saying they have fixed that problem but not as far as I can see. Back to 6.32 for me.

EDIT: Seems to work OK on my 8 laptop, time will tell though.
