here's the thing: I have Windows 8 Pro already, but I don't have the "Add Windows Features" capability, I can only find "turn features on or off"

Solved!

I received my free Windows 8 Media Center key and installed it.

Once it was installed, I noticed a tile way on the far right of the interface formerly known as Metro called "OpenGL Extensions".

I clicked on that and it installed OpenGL 2.1 on the Intel video driver and the app that needed OpenGL support now works fine.
I am having the same Open GL version problem, i need to update it, i already got my Media Center, but where (inside Media Center/ Windows Start) exactly did you notice the OpenGl Extension? Thank you.

I wish this update was for the Intel Atom-based D2500 and D2700-based motherboards. The Intel drivers are 32bit only, so I have to load the 32bit versions of Win7 and Win8. No 64bit drivers for onboard video from Intel and there is only one PCI expansion slot...

Does those really run 64bit without EMT64 instruction set? Didn't knew that.
ARK | Intel® Atom

Even if they do, not many netbooks run x64 Windows IMO.

As you might know, that (D2700) Atom has reached the end of life and that's why they will not release 64bit drivers for it.

Sorry for the bad news.
What video card is that anyway?

I'm very sad about that because I've been buying a 6.5 x 6.5in Intel board with the Atom CPU, 4GB of SODIMM DDR3 RAM, video, audio, Ethernet, VGA/DVI, HDMI, etc... for a little over $120. The Intel D25xx and D27xx product lines. These boards replace old P4-based boards in old PC's that I "revive" for friends and family. For a reasonable cost, I can rebuild their old PC, reuse the case, PS, hard drives and DVD drives and put Win7 on them and they're all set. Now I'll have to find something else to use. These weren't on the market too long, less than a year...
