I thought you weren't using the Beta drivers after Microsoft released their official driver package for Intel/AMD mobile series switchable graphics. You had better install the Microsoft package and call it a day. Once installed Microsoft's update service will automatically update your video drivers as needed.

I see you're running Windows 8.1 Pro w/Media Center. Did you have any issues installing the latest (KB2919355) Windows 8.1 update 1 update that came out last week?

I hear some people's systems crashing and were unable to take the update; without which, no further updates for the Windows 8.1 OS will be offered through the Windows Update Service starting this upcoming May 2014.

yeah I had problems, kept getting error when installing the update, all other updates installed fine. Tried all the usual "expert" advice's, but nothing. So ended up D/L a leaked ISO of w8 with update, burned the ISO, ran the setup. Had to use a public install key, than was able to activate it as usual with my retail bought key, than had to re activate the media center with my retail key for that. When it was done I had another update that brought me up to the latest "update 1". So now I'm updated and runnin OK, but had to go through it that way.

I posted the link on some windows 8 thread and was told it was illegal lol, oh well, I know MS doesn't care about the "leaked" ISO's, figure how many MSD and Technet people got them and handed them out. I seen something that maybe MS was going to make the ISO thing available public end of month, who knows, but it may be the only way some can get the dunbazz thing to work.

Just D/L and installed the new AMD WHQL driver 14.4 it went smooth as glass, no problems at all, the same way the latest Intel driver (3517) went right from Intel last week.

No problems at all after system restart.

Its so good to see AMD now supporting these 7690m xt's with a "normal" NON OEM driver instead of these idiot "we only make one driver in your lifetime OEM's" like HP, it was nothing short of insane and only drove many to Gforce. So no more waiting for an OEM driver from HP, and even no more concerns about HP OS drivers as I have since updated my original OEM OS (W7) to W8.1up1.

So for people that have a AMD 6700 series GPU, or one of these 7690m xt's (re-branded 6770) you should now be able to just go with the normal released WHQL drivers.

note: use the "mobility" driver for laptops

Hi HOODY, i have the same gpu as you (7690m xt) i have been struggling with these thing since i bought the pc. Now, installed the catalyst 14.4 driver (the one that got realesed few days ago) and the installation was perfect. When i restarted the computer, it showed me an Error message like this: Your amd driver is not working. Install the driver corresponding to your hardware.

im so mad, i dont know what to do. :(

Sounds like something that raises BP, lol, I have no real answer for you, but one thing I didn't do back when the first one of these drivers came out, was to just leave my OEM HP driver installed, and installed the AMD driver right over it, In other words I didn't do any "cleaning", removing of drivers at all.

BTW, have you updated your Intel driver? yet? to 3517, you should do that before you install the AMD. Also if your on W8 or 8.1, make sure you have your graphics is set to "Dynamic" in your BIOS.

If you uninstalled your origional OEM driver, try reinstalling that again and than run the AMD.again.

Also download the "mobility" driver, not the other one. One more thing is I closed down my AV during the install.

Good luck.

Thanks HOODY i could install it. Now i have a question, have you ever tried the pscx2 emulator? the GPU can´t get a decent perfomance on it, i dont know why. Checking on MSI afterburner i noticed that during the emulaiton, the core clock is stucked at 400, why its not on 715 as it should be? maybe thats why i get such a not very nice perfomance with the pscx2 emulator (30 fps)

Not too clear on that, I think because the system has to be set to dynamic now, that the AMD card isn't seen properly by MSI afterburner when you run it since the Intel APU is being used, I dono, maybe if your playing some game that requires the AMD card and your able to run MSI , maybe it would show a different value.

As I said I find no problems with what I do, the game I know I have that won't play on the Intel APU, plays fine when I start that game , so it must be switching to the AMD properly. Sometimes the performance values you see arent exactly right, as long as your games play in a respectable way, why worry.
