I updated to the 16.6.1 hotfix from the WHQL Crimson 16.1 drivers I installed in January. I had several Event ID 16388 ATI EEU Client Events at boot. It also took a few more seconds for the login screen to appear. Photoshop also found an error with the AMD driver and wouldn't use the GPU. I note the last Hotfix is not WHQL certified. Also, something called Vulkan appeared - what's that for do I need it?
I've gone back to the previous WHQL version 16.1 I was using and now have no problems.
What's the latest WHQL AMD driver and where do you find the previous WHQL driver versions?
I note that different variants of the AMD driver are now downloaded for Windows 8.1 and 10. I'll be updating to Windows 10 soon. Which is the best AMD driver to install before I upgrade?
Also, when you post a link to new drivers on page 1, please clarify whether the driver is WHQL certified. The 16.6.1 hotfix driver bears the prefix non-whql... when you download the file. I don't want to waste my time trying out poorly tested AMD software!
