Latest AMD Catalyst Graphics Driver for Windows 8

I'm not so sure it is necessarily a Realtek chip but you could be right. Still it is up the the graphics card manufacturer to ensure it passes the audio correctly through the HDMI. I don't think Realtek has anything to do with the drivers for it. May be wrong.
AMD GPU drivers contain separate drivers for HDMI sound, could install GPU driver without them, that's what I elected to do. Not using HDMI sound at this time. I should check .ini file to see what part of driver is for sound.
AMD Audio driver is v9.0.0.9905 for my GPU.

Not sure about any of the new cards that have TrueAudio, but any cards before them used a Realtek chip and driver. In fact it is/was recommended to use the driver directly from Realtek as it was more feature rich and actually provided the Realtek audio panel for settings, instead of the generic version that was packed with the Catalyst suite (basically not much better than the base Microsoft audio driver; let the HDMI work and not much else).

On my video card, audio codec has vendor no. HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_1002&DEV_AA01&SUBSYS_104D6800&REV_1002 and is AMD made not Realtek.

Sounds about right. You have the R7 260 which as the new TrueAudio on it. The 290/290X are the others (not counting whichever of the "new" 300 series has it.

They never advertised it like that. As I don't use anything with HDMI sound input I wasn't interested in it. Only now I checked vendor No. There's no controls for it like Realtek has. I'll check again in a few days when I get my new monitor with HDMI and sound. Talking about sound and Realtek, newest drivers support Dx12 Api.

This latest driver turned online videos green. I have to click on the slider to get the video.

New AMD Catalyst 15.7.1 hotfix has been released. See first post for more details. :)

Strangest thing I ever saw. I run the installer, select Custom Install. Some of the drivers say "installed and up to date" but I still cannot deselect to install them.

Left click the mouse in the box, select with the arrow key and hit spacebar/enter they still will not uncheck. I managed to update to the new video driver. But the catalyst control center update hangs at about 97"% done. Task Manager shows about 16% CPU usage, 300 MB memory usage, but 0 disk usage. It must be going nowhere fast.

GPU is Readon 7130 in a Toshiba Laptop.

Edit: Never mind. I got it to go on finally. :)
