OK installed 14.9 , went OK, all is working, however when I open CCC to check the driver I get this silly error when I click the close button , I might try reinstall and see if it fix's the thing, but have no idea what causes this. Windows keeps wanting to create an error report.


Well reinstalling the driver didn't help, so will go back to 14.8. Used a restore point I made just prior to installing this 14.9

Everything was OK with 14.9 and worked as long as I didn't open CCC and than click to close it, It was OK if I left it open.

So I tried 14.9 and the issues still exist in Dragon Age/Lord of the Rings: War of the North Sent in a bug report form so hopefully it is looked at.

Well the driver installed OK, it was just the CCC update that gave me this problem, I did revert back to 14.8, but I may try to just install the driver alone and not update CCC, to see if that clams it down.

edit:

OK I re installed using custom, and un checked the CCC install. The driver installed fine, And opening and closing the last version of CCC works fine now, so it was something about the new/update to CCC that has some sort of problem, at least on my system.

So at least i have the updated driver

FYI - Issue with 14.9 drivers and NEC monitors

Just FYI...

For those using an NEC monitor with SpectraView II software be aware these drivers break the software, at least under Windows 8.1. With these drivers installed, SpectraView no longer works and Windows will error out with a "SpectraView II has stopped working message".



I can duplicate this by completely removing the 14.9 drivers and SpectraView works; as soon as I install them, SpectraView stops working again. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the SpectraView software and this issue still persists.

For those that don't know, SpectraView is a monitor calibrating software specifically designed to work with certain NEC high end monitors. I've a PA242W 24 inch monitor.

Looks like I'll have to go back to the old 14.7 RC3 drivers which worked without issue.

@HOODY you may want to try your driver again, that was one of the release note fixes by the looks of it.

I'm glad it fixed the BSOD on BF4 as well that was one of the bugs I was having with 14.9.

Right now all is fine I didn't update the CCC from 14.9, but the driver installed fine.

Sweet! Maybe this one will actually make it to where I can run Watch Dogs in crossfire with 290s and not drop to 15 FPS while driving. Hahaha

Edit: Or not. Guess it's only to enable Mantle in the new Sid Meier game.

yeah, my relationship with AMD is about over as it is too, usin an older laptop with the 7690m xt (6770m) there's not much in the way of "new" stuff for this older card anymore, I installed the last WHQL 14.9 and its doing OK. I may update to another WHQL but no more betas.

Besides I've already made up my mind to go with NVIDIA Gforce on any future lap.

I've had some issues with 14.9.2, such as BSODs when exiting out of games, stuttering in games, random screen freezes and Photoshop just refusing to start and going to a white screen/not responding. I've rolled back to 14.9.1 and the issues seem to be gone.

similar situation here but more related to when exiting while twitching.

I can twitch/be recording with hypercam or something and if I exit for example RuneScape while using those it will make the client crash and close instead of closing properly. It isn't anything big but it does concern me if it was an actual game and it happened on that then.

I haven't been able to get any of my AMD drivers to work properly with RuneScape as a matter of fact for full HD graphics. I a lot of times have to use Razer Cortex to make it clean the memory a lot so I don't black screen/crash.

Which is totally silly considering my specs.
