Laptop unable to access network G drive

As the title says my laptop is unable to access the network drives G drive - the which is windows 7 is able access it, the messgae i get says its already in use but its my understanding that mire than one computer should be able to access the drive so ang guess`s as to what could be up

Is it a shared folder as its saying in use have you mapped a drive to it or may be open in some sort of file history holding it like word document used from tha drive

No its a proper network drive

My bad its the Z drive but still same error

Is there any limits on the drive ie only so many users is anyone else connected to it?

Not that i know of, but the laptop and pc have connected to it before at the same time,
