Hi,
New to forums, I'm currently having a problem with my Laptop, The display goes half red then half white with blue lines with it.
I've tried to connect it with External Monitor. and it works properly, Now i'm wondering that is it the cables gone wrong? or Something i don't know. Should i go to a repair shop to repair this problem?

EDIT:

Yes & Yes. Most local shops will not touch it. If it is just the LCD & Inverter. It is easy to do.

Sparepartswarehouse.Com is reputable. You may want to check with the to see how much they would charge.

Depending on the age of the laptop. You can get a brand new decent one for around $300.

Or go on eBay and get a Dell Latitude E6420 for around $250. Much better machine. Commercial class semi-rugged and much easier to work on when something goes wrong.

EDIT:

IF your comfortable with opening it up, one thing you could check is the connection of the cable between the LCD and the motherboard. I have seen these comes loose before because sometimes manufacturers make only just long enough to reach and work and can be loosened by repeated opening and closing of the lid.

Looks like Newegg has gotten in a lot more Refurb's and Off Leases. They want $125 for the Dell E6420. "B" Grade Minor Cracked and/or Dent. I am sure that going through there list, you can find one that is not dinged. Newegg at least offers a 6 month warranty on their items.

It is really great that you can even pick up larger drives at below $100 right now, because it is a Buyers market on Computer hardware, because there is so much stock that is not selling at this point. You can thank that to the economy, which has caused consumers to not abuse their computing devices, but taking care of them, until they physically die, instead of selling them, just because something new is out.
