My dell machine was unable to open up. Open the power button to hear the fan turn, the power light is still lit but the screen still does not light up to enter the operating system.
Been 3 months now and I have left the computer to the side without opening the laptop. :(

Plug in an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard. See if you can work that way.
