Try this:
1. Uninstall KB3045999
2. It will ask you to restart windows, but DON'T RESTART
3. Install KB3022345
4. Restart Windows
5. Install KB3045999
6. Restart Windows
This worked for me. Good Luck.

Now we have the May version of this patch we need to be very careful. I have the patch installed correctly but now find that I have some corruption on my system because of it. See following-

AutoAnalysis::
CORRUPT: C:\WINDOWS\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-u..ed-telemetry-client_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.17807_none_34ec27432242ab0d\utc.app.json

Has anybody got any ideas how to fix this particular issue?

Have you tried running the DISM on-line file repair tool ? Copy and paste this into an elevated command prompt.

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

silently preparing

Hi All,
This is one of the silently prepairing you PC for W10.
Apparantly it "talks" to MS about your system specs.

There have been a number of issues with it, and Noel in W7 updates and activations is also looking at.

shamelessly stolen, but worked for me:
"Go to programs and Features / installed updates, deinstall KB3038314, do not reboot, manually install KB3022345, reboot, then install KB3038314 again. Thats it."

Cheers, it worked for me!!
