Windows update installation Issue (KB2756872)

Update for Windows 8 for x64-based Systems (KB2756872) Will not install.

Things I have tried and been unsuccessful with:

System update readiness

System file checker/Scannow or SFC

I have tried downloading the update manually.

I have also contacted and been helped by the Geek Squad. I let them remote control my desktop for 4 hours. In the end they told me they were unable to fix the issue and that a lot of people have been having the issue. Windows is currently working on a solution to the issue.

Before I contacted the Geek Squad I contacted Microsoft. The level 1 tech could not solve my issue. they told me they would have a level 2 tech contact me at 7:00 PM tonight. I will come back to this thread and let everyone know what the level 2 tech from Microsoft tells me about the issue. If they can solve it or not.

Update on my problem:

I had a Microsoft specialist level 2 tech work on my comp for a couple hours last night. He could not solve the issue. He had me download a windows 8 ISO and save it to my desktop. He says he is going to run a system repair tonight. He will be calling me and continuing where he left off last night at 7:00 PM eastern time.

I will again update my situation when he finishes. I forgot to last night, But tonight when he starts working. I am going to use my steps recorder program on my computer to record what he does and how. If anyone would like to see this video I will be more than happy to send it to you. Or maybe post it on here if possible.

In case anyone did not know my windows 8 came with this recorder called steps recorder. It records everything you do including pictures of every step you took. I am not sure but I think all Windows 8 maybe even Windows 7 come with this steps recorder. Not to change the subject.

.

I have let Microsoft remote control my computer again for multiple hours. They have come to the conclusion that my computer needs a fresh install of windows 8.

We will be continuing to go ahead with the fresh install of windows 8 pro tomorrow at 2:00 Eastern time.

I will be sure to update and let everyone know if this works out okay. From what I have concluded from my experience from Microsoft they have been unable to find a fix to this issue of mine other than reinstalling Windows.

Yeah, for me, two large update files would fail to install and had to be reverted. I read that it may be because of corrupted files. I did a clean install of 8 a few days ago and the updates worked like a charm. I don't know what caused the issue though.

These were the files:

KB2779768 , 55.8MB
KB2785094 , 33.5MB

Yes same thing with me. I ended up doing the same thing to solve my issues with my updates not installing. spent 3 days with Microsoft Remote controlling my PC. and 1 with the Geek Squad before Microsoft.

I ended up doing a clean install of Windows 8 pro. So far this is the only fix to this problem I found. I spent more than a week total including my own time spent searching for a solution to this problem. If anyone else finds a solution to this problem feel free to let me know.

I also spent some time looking up this Issue and talking to a level 3 tech(The highest tech support you can receive) from Microsoft the other day. The tech informed me that Windows is close to releasing it's first service pack for Windows 8. He said they do know about this issue and it has been happening to multiple PC's. The service pack is supposed to fix these and other known issues.
