If you try and install AV software on top of this Windows defender will usually switch itself off (possibly due to another piece of totally bo---cks  EU / US "Anti Monopoly ideas ) so it's up to you whether you think the WRITER of the OS has a better chance of maintaining the security of the OS or a 3rd party supplier who has to either dubiously reverse engineer Ms's security logic or use standard published windows API's which any hacker could exploit without even batting an eyelid.Cheersjimbo</blockquote>
