I just wanted to share that x1950 pro works with legacy 10.2 drivers for vista on my test machine with Win 8 x64 release preview. First update Dot Net. Then you need to disable windows defender (found some ebay shortcuts as malware during driver installation and stoped it), run driver in compatibility mode with Win 7, run as Administrator. If driver installation hangs use driver sweeper to clean everything and start over. Even Catalyst control center works fine
I had problems to set native resolution for my 19" lcd monitor (1440x900) through windows "Screen resolution" applet. It kept setting higher refresh rate than allowed so my monitor reported "out of range" error. Trick is to set desired resolution and not click apply or OK, but do to Advanced setting, choose monitor and make sure that reresh rate is set to 60 HZ and then click apply. Works good. You can also use CCC to set resolution once installed properly.
