I could not install from CD, however, I got one screen past where I entered the product key. Formated with Active Boot Disk and tried again. I am wondering if the jump drive doesn't have a required file or files. I didn't see any large files or cabs.

Then I got this error message:

Try this - go into bios and switch to AHCI mode from SATA mode

No joy...AHCI was already enabled, I took the ssd out . of the laptop and put it in my desktop and made a disk and partition image.

I wish I could noodle this out, because I like your method that suggests two different images.

I have tested my flash drive and my dvd win 8.1 setup files. They both will run on my desktop.. I think my latop has hardware issues, what do you think?

I backed up my drivers and thought i might uninstall the usb drivers and then re install them.

have you tried using your recovery drive to install windows on your SSD??

Does the SSD come with a Drivers Disk??

Your not the only one with an installation partition issue.. Another person only gets a 300MB partition...

My recovery drive only has win 7. No driver came with the Corsair Agility 128gb (sp.) I am wondering if I can install it temporarily
in my desktop to do a clean install and then image it while it is still there.

It depends on how versed you are at following instructions..

On the windows 8.1 PC - control panel - recovery - create a recovery drive..

Once you have that recovery drive - we are going to create several wim files using the create media tool..

we can then add your product key to the install.wim file

swap out the recovery wim file with the files we create

Download the .zip file below and follow the How to guide and use Media Creation Tool (Read The guide First)

Once you Have the ISO created by that program - your gonna double click the ISO to mount it..

Then follow the Image Prep.txt and run a few commands from Command Prompt (admin)..

once you have the two .wim files (boot and Install) in your C:\temp directory - your gonna delete everything from within the "sources" folder on the recovery media..

Copy the wim's from c:temp to the recovery media sources folder..

and then we need to add two other files to the recovery media's sources folder..

Depending on how your laptop boots via bios or uefi

In the configFiles.zip there are two folders one for BIOS Booted PC and one for UEFI booted PC

Within each folder are the two other files that need to be copied into the recovery media's sources folder.. Depending on your system.

Then run the recovery media on your laptop with the SSD installed..

Oh, one note - the xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx product key gets replaced with your windows product key

Show all hidden files - go to username - appdata - local - temp

Delete all the files in temp and then run the tool

You will see a folder popup and within that folder you will find the download folder - that tmp file will change to winpayload.esd.decrypt..

The windows ISO you have does not contain an install.wim in the sources folder - it contains an install.esd.. we can not use that file..

Actually we are going to setup the recovery media on your desktop and then run the media on your laptop with the SSD installed
