IT'S BACK !BING! How to delete once & for all!

I thought I had gotten rid of that PEST months ago. It has taken over my browser. I did not install it. Is there a free program to get rid of this unwelcome visitor? Saw something about Spy Hunter...what is the best Easiest way to do this? It's not in add/remove programs.

Just replace it with a different search engine. You can also edit the registry at Use regedit to change the default value of the following registry key:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchUrl

• to

%s - Google Search

I have read and reread your post. I have no idea to do what you said. I tried searching the tutorials here to no avail. I tried searching it on my computer..nothing shows up.

I had Google Chrome before Bing. I can go to my chrome icon and BING is there. I want all of the Bing Stuff gone forever. every speck of it.

I did download a new copy of Chrome for my browser but BING took it over the minute I downloaded it.

I can only get to Facebook thru AOL......pitiful !

I just know someone can tell me what to do .....Dumb it down please. Not a computer Guru like most of you here.....;

Someone sent me this info to remove BING from my computer. . Can't find my original post on the General Forum. I asked for it to be put back there and it was last night. But now I can't find it.

"Run SFC /SCANNOW to repair any errors. Run DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /RESTOREHEALTH to correct any errors not found by SFC.

You may need to uninstall updates KB3022345 and the related update KB3068708 for SFC and DISM to run correctly - see DISM Command Fails

Use Autoruns to disable any startup programs, services and driver not required (be careful). I've just upgraded a system and found some of the boot delay was due to an external USB HDD having a partition marked Active instead of Inactive (I used Mini Tool Partition Wizard to adjust this).


I was sent this info to Delete Bing.
I have no idea what SCF/scannow is. or Run DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /RESTOREHEALTH to correct any errors not found by SFC. "

First copy the command-

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Then-
Open an administrator command prompt-

Press the Windows key + X to get the needed menu or-



When the cmd prompt appears, right click at the blinking cursor & the command will be pasted in-



It hangs at 20% for a long time.


Let it finish.

If it completes nicely-



Run sfc /scannow the same way.
Post back with results.

I got rid of Bing.
