Issues with Windows Store, new user, can you help?

Ok, I am a new user, but not new to technology. This is my first Windows 8 experience. I just bought an Acer v5 touch screen laptop. It is really nice, and everything works really nice....except the Windows store.

When I click the windows store icon, everything pops up like it should. Then is when the trouble starts. It appears to be reloading itself over and over. I might have enough time to look at an app or two, and then it reloads itself back to the main store screen. it might do it every minute, or it might do it every second 10 times in a row.

Acer customer support asked me to refresh the system. So I went to the menu and did the recovery process they advised. Thant did not help, so then they wanted me to box up the laptop, that I opened yesterday, and send it in to them. Before I do that, I thought I would ask to see if anyone had any other thoughts or ideas.

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for all the help.

Hello Pastor Josh, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Does it only do this while in the Store, and not with any other app?

Since you did do a factory recovery and it still does this, then it would seem it may be an issue with the laptop itself. It may be best to let Acer fix or replace it while still under warrantee.

Thanks for the responses. Actually, after restarting the the computer (not just shutting down), the computer did about 40 updates. It seems that something in those updates have cleared that problem up.

Now I have another problem I have causes myself. I deleted the shark attack game app before I starting doing all of this and the store is trying to update an app that isn't there. Can I cancel that update and make it go away forever? I have tried canceling it, but it always comes back. Thanks again guys.

Double check to see if you just unpinned the app, or actually uninstalled the app.

If you just unpinned it, then the app should still be listed in All Apps, and the update would actually be valid in this case.

If you did uninstall it, then you might clear the Store cache to see if it will help remove the update for an app that is not installed.

Ok, now I am figuring some things out. I had just unpinned the app. The app is part of the bloat that came pre-installed on the laptop. Now the store has gone back to doing the restart thing, but it seems to be when the system is trying to update this one app. It gives an error message that it couldn't update, and falls back into the que. Now how can I stop this update? I don't get the option to delete the game, it only gives me the option to unpin it? Thanks for all the help guys!!
