Ever since I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 811 I’ve been having issues with the Flash Player. When I go on websites it says that I need to upgrade my Flash player. When I try to upgrade my Flash Player I get directed to this website, Flash Player Issues | Windows 8. I think that I don’t have a Flash Player installed on my computer, but it won’t let me install a Flash Player on my computer either I’ve dealt with at least 5 to 6 different techs from Microsoft Answer Desk ALL who tried to repair this issue, but gotten nowhere. A) I don’t know if whether I do –or- do not have a Flash Player on my computer, B) if I do have a Flash Player on my computer I don’t know/how to find out when version I have, & C) if I have a Flash Player on my computer I don’t know if it’s enable or disabled? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For IE, the flash player is installed via Windows Updates. For any other browsers (Firefox, Chrome etc...) you'll need to install it manually.

  1. For IE, run windows updates
  2. For any other browsers. Download Uninstall Flash Player | Windows
    Then run.
  3. Download Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
NOTE: Make sure you uncheck the optional offer to install McAfee
  4. Close all browsers and run the flash installer
  5. When done, Open the browser and check if flash installed successfully
    Find version

Good luck

Does your flash player work ?

As stated by topgun, flash player in Win 8 and 8.1 is part of the OS and is updated by Windows updates.

Recommend you do not click on any update for flash player. If you have, run a scan on your computer and reset IE.
