Hiya,

I'm a newbie so take it easy on me please!

I had to change my password for my Hotmail account on my iPhone a few days ago. As this is the only email account I am using on my Windows 8 mail app nothing is sending or syncing.

I have tried going to the settings charm in the mail app however when I click onto the Hotmail account and scroll to the bottom it does not come up with the option to change password as I think it should. Instead my email address is greyed out as it the 'remove account' button so I can't remove and re-add using new password.

From what I have seen online I am supposed to be able to change the settings here from the Change PC Settings button but can't find it.

Getting really frustrated as I am trying to submit coursework to my tutor via email and keeps sitting in my outbox! Help!

Hello Jess, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Sometimes it takes a bit for a changed password of a Microsoft account to sync to all PCs and devices.

If you sign in to Windows with a Microsoft account using the same Hotmail account, then you should be able to sign out and in to Windows to have it updated in the Mail app as well since the Mail app uses the same Microsoft account as the default.

If that doesn't work for you, then switching your current Microsoft account in Windows to a local account and then back to a Microsoft account should toggle it to be updated afterwards.

Hope this helps for now, :)

If you open up the charms bar (Windows Key+C) and then select the bottom option 'Settings
At the bottom of the next page there is the option for 'Change PC Settings'
select this

When PC Settings opens, click on Accounts and then after that Sign-In Options

Top option here should allow you to change your password
