Hey guys!
I noticed that many of you have custom or self-built computers. I would love to build my a computer, but is really as easy as it looks? Also, if you have any motherboard suggestions or video card suggestions, I would like to hear them. (Or read them, since we're on a forum)

P.S This is my 100th post!!

It's EASY! And most computer stores have "Barebones" systems you can buy for cheap, you just add the parts you want. Just remember to wear a ground strap around your wrist when inserting chips and Ram, but sometimes, the places you buy the parts from insert all the chips for you.

Ground straps are a good suggestion, but something I have never used in my entire IT career.

It's easy! If I can do it, anyone (well, almost anyone) can do it. We'll help you out... Here's one I built for myself last spring and I've been tweaking it ever since... I build 4-6 computers a month for family, friends and folks at church and work... I only charge what the hardware and software cost and I never add any $ for labor...

I prefer Pick Parts, Build Your PC, Compare and Share - PCPartPicker Just put in the parts your looking at and if not compatible, it will make a suggestion on what to pick.

I've never played it, so I can't say. You can always try it and then add a dedicated card latter on if need be.

With minecraft your fine but don't put everything on max.
I've played Minecraft with 30 fps on and old Core 2 Duo on my Dell Latitude D530 Laptop.

Good looking build. If you do decide on getting a video card down the road, a nice cheep one like the GTX 750 TI is a great choice. The reference has no power connections so it is power efficient and is quiet and it is a single slot so you can put other cards in there too

Another thing, if you, or anyone else, has any suggestions on a monitor. I've been looking, but there are so many!

Really, a monitor is so personal

Pick a monitor like a piece of furniture. If you get a gook monitor, you will be looking at a good image 5 years from now. If you get a lousy monitor, you will still be looking at a lousy image 5 years from now.

The only thing I will say is get a monitor with DVI compatibility.

I did look around and saw that the CPU you picked does not have 1866 speed memory compatibility. The motherboard also does not have compatibility for that, also. The max for both is 1600 mHz. Sorry about that
