Hello Guys,

When I use the Internet Explorer Metro app and click on the address bar I can see frequent sites but pinned sites and favorites are missing. I have a preview release still installed in a virtual machine and I can see pinned sites on that but not on this proper 64 bit purchased full install copy of Windows 8.

I have posted a screen shot below.

Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks

Tony

I did a fresh format and install of Windows 8 64 Bit Pro. Sorry but I couldn't live without a start button so I have installed the Start8 start menu which is great. I try sometimes not to use it but find metro frustrating to find programs as I have many. I will use Metro for apps only and desktop of serious computing.

Hello Tony,

Are these sites that were pinned to Start from within IE10 Metro? The ones pinned from within IE10 desktop will not display in IE10 Metro?

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorial...rer-10-pin-unpin-sites-start-windows-8-a.html

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

Hello Shawn,

Thanks for the advise, I've worked it out now. It looks like you have to pin a site to the Metro start screen then it will show up in Metro IE as a pinned site, I've got hundreds of favourites so I'll just have to use Metro IE for certain tasks like reading this forum.

Cheers

Tony

All of my favourites show up, but not in folders as they do in the desktop version. I'm not sure how they transferred across, but it's a pain looking for a link when you have to scroll horizontally through hundreds of links.

Great news Tony.

@Ray,

Yeah, it stinks that you can't have the favorites organized in Metro like in the desktop version.

That's strange, I wouldn't want that as I have hundreds. I hope Microsoft are going to tweak these apps, I'm really disappointed with most of them as they don't seem to work as they should!

Unfortunately it is working as it should (as Microsoft intended), as are the rest, but it's not how many expect/want them to work. That's the big difference with how the apps work.
