How to Delete Browsing History of Internet Explorer in Windows 8 and 8.1

Your browsing history is the information that Internet Explorer remembers and stores on a PC as your browse the web. This includes info you've entered into forms, passwords, and sites you've visited, and it helps make your browsing experience better. If you're using a shared or public PC, you might not want to Internet Explorer to remember your browsing data.
The modern and desktop Internet Explorer share your same browsing history from each other. All options in this tutorial will apply to both the modern and desktop Internet Explorer.
This tutorial will show you different options on how to delete your browsing history from both the modern and desktop Internet Explorer in Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1.
The modern and desktop Internet Explorer share your same browsing history from each other. All options in this tutorial will apply to both the modern and desktop Internet Explorer.
This tutorial will show you different options on how to delete your browsing history from both the modern and desktop Internet Explorer in Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1.
OPTION ONE
To Delete your Browsing History on Exit of Internet Explorer
NOTE: You can use this option to automatically delete your browsing history when you close the modern and desktop Internet Explorer.
1. Open Internet Options, click/tap on the General tab, and do step 2 or 3 below. (see screenshot below)
2. To Turn Off Delete Browsing History on Exit
NOTE: This is the default setting.
A) Under Browsing history, uncheck the Delete browsing history on exit box, and click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below step 1)
3. To Turn On Delete Browsing History on Exit
A) Under Browsing history, and check the Delete browsing history on exit box. (see screenshot below step 1)
B) Under Browsing history, click/tap on the Delete button. (see screenshot below step 1)
C) Check or uncheck the items you want to set to be deleted or not deleted on exit, and click/tap on Delete. (see screenshot below)
NOTE: This will also delete the checked items now.
D) Click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below step 1)
OPTION TWO
To Delete your Browsing History from Desktop Internet Explorer
1. While on your desktop, open Internet Explorer (iexplore.exe).
2. Open Internet Options (Option Two at link) from within Internet Explorer.
3. Under Browsing history in the General tab, click/tap on the Delete button. (see screenshot below)
4. Check or uncheck the items you want to be deleted or not deleted, and click/tap on Delete. (see screenshot below)
5. When IE browsing history has finished being deleted, you will get the yellow bar pop-up at the bottom of IE to let you know. You can click/tap on the X at the top right corner to close it. (see screenshot below)
6. Click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below step 3)
OPTION THREE
To Delete your Browsing History from Modern Internet Explorer
1. While on your Start screen, click/tap on the modern Internet Explorer tile to open it.
2. Open Internet Options (Option Three at link) from within modern Internet Explorer.
3. Do steps 4 or 5 below for the modern IE10 or modern IE11.
4. To Delete Browsing History in Modern IE10
A) Under Delete Browsing History, click/tap on the Delete button, and go to step 6 below.
5. To Delete Browsing History in Modern IE11
A) Under History, click/tap on the Select button. (see screenshot below)
B) Check or uncheck the items you want to be deleted or not deleted, click/tap on Delete, and go to step 6 below. (see screenshot below)
6. Your browsing history will now be deleted. (see screenshots below)
7. When finished, you can click/tap on an empty area within modern IE to close the right pane.
OPTION FOUR
To Delete your Browsing History from Command Prompt
1. Open a command prompt.
2. In the command prompt, copy and paste the command below for the type of data you want to delete, and press Enter.
A) To Delete Temporary Internet Files
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 8
B) To Delete Cookies
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 2
C) To Delete History
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 1
D) To Delete Form Data
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 16
E) To Delete Saved Passwords
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 32
F) To Delete All Browsing History
NOTE: This deletes all of the above items.
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 255
G) To Delete All Browsing and Add-Ons History
NOTE: This deletes all of the above items, plus all of the IE add-on's history.
RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 4351
3. Repeat step 2 for any others you wish to delete.
4. When finished, you can close the command prompt if you like.
OPTION FIVE
To Delete your Browsing History from Disk Cleanup
NOTE: This option will only delete your temporary internet files and offline webpages.
1. Open Disk Cleanup.
2. Check at least Temporary internet files and/or Offline webpages, then click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below)
3. Click/tap on Delete Files to confirm. (see screenshot below)
4. The files will be deleted and Disk Cleanup will automatically close.
