Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL chipset Driver problem for windows developer

I have windows 8. Is it possible to use an external video card. Will that work?

This thread is SPECIFICALLY about the Intel 915-series chipset and its driver problems. Unless you really scrounge around for it, I don't think you're going to find an external video card today that uses that chipset.

Please don't complicate a thread about a specific chipset with posts about unrelated issues.

Hi. I really want Windows 8 on my Mobile Intel® 910GML Express Chipset :(
someone help us :( i still waiting

I know this thread is super old....any chance anyone found a work around for this? I have a tc4200 tablet pc and am having all of the issues described in these 7 pages. Would be awesome if someone found a solutions. Thanks in advance guys

With that chipset, you can ONLY use the Microsoft Basic Display driver. The Intel driver relied on XPDM support to work properly -- which was OK in Win7 because that supported it. MS removed XPDM support with Win8, so as has already been said, there is NO way that driver is going to work anymore.

and no way to custom make xpdm support, or personally develop something that could work with 8.

As to the first, no. MS removed the code from the OS that supports that driver.

As to the second, probably NOT -- even if you could write your own driver, you would still have to rely on the XPDM support -- which is not there.
