Solved Intel 965GM Driver support?

#1
Anyone have a video chipset based off of the Intel 965GM that got a driver to load? I have an HP 2710p laptop that I am experimenting with.

TIA...........SC

Funny thing is that I tried it earlier but it wouldn't install. I tried it a different way this time and it took.

Thanks for the insight!

I have the same graphics (Intel 965GM) however windows 8 will not let me install the driver, I have tried 64bit, 32bit, tried to install the driver manually etc....

Which driver did it finally let you install?? Do you have a link (I tried the latest one from the intel website to no avail) No matter what I do I get this error:

"This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software"

If i install manually via "have disk" and pick the actual .inf file I get and error saying that this driver is not compatible with this version of windows.

Any help would be appreciated...

Try this driver, if you get the above message, wait for a while and you'll get another two options in a pop up window " do you want to install the driver in compatibility mode" or similar wording, select that option and see whether it helps.

Thanks for your reply. Already tried this, did not work I get the same "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements"

I tried using the automatic compatibility settings it suggests, and also setting it manually, still the same error... :(

Ya tried the HP 6910p drivers from their website, no luck. Tried with the 64bit version of the windows 8 developer preview, with all the methods above as well.

Other things I've tried are installing all the hp drivers for the other hardware, even updating .net framework etc..

Don't know how the op was able to get it to install... there must be some other hardware differences compared to my laptop that is causing this error...

Thanks,

I downloaded the (exe) drivers from the link that brummyfan mentioned. I saved them and then right-clicked "Run as Administrator". That ended up working for me. I eventually rolled back to Windows 7 because my laptop couldn't do the basics and ended up just running a virtualized W8 in VMWare.

Hi, buni, welcome to the Eight Forums! :)
I'm glad you got it sorted.

If you ever lose that file you can always find the drivers here:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/

Select the following:

ScreenShot00817.jpg

Then select these:

ScreenShot00818.jpg

And download either this:

ScreenShot00819.jpg

or this:

ScreenShot00820.jpg
