I recently installed windows 8 customer preview. It all went fine, but the graphics are really ugly.
It installed the basic driver, and i can't install the win7 driver.
Please help, really want to use windows 8.

my specs are :
Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz
1 GB RAM 1333Hz
Intel 82865g chipset with 96 MB VRAM

Thanks!

Sorry, as with the Developer Preview, you can't install the video driver that worked in Win7. I have a 915GM chipset and have the same problems. Win8 CP does provide an aero-like look, but since MS apparently disabled XPDM support with Win8, there is literally NO WAY you can get the older Intel drivers working again. I know, I tried everything in Win8 DP and nothing worked.

The "requirements" for Win8 also include a WDDM driver -- which is NOT available for Intel chipsets prior to the 945. Period. The Aero-like effects are the same I get with a 915 chipset -- and if you or they, check the display driver info in Device Manager, you will see that it does NOT say anything about Intel. Windows 8 REQUIRES WDDM drivers; the older chipsets had only XPDM drivers. So, the Win7 drivers will NOT work in Win8. I know, I've already tried them.
