Hey all!
New to the forums (after EOL of 8, of course ). Haven't run it personally since 2017, and I switched to 10 on my primary even before that, but have always been a strong defender of the operating system. Always thought about returning to it as my daily driver, now I can't really .
But my grandad still runs Windows 8.1, and when we went computer shopping last week we were massively underwhelmed by the selection of Windows 11 laptops out there (plus, I can't stand using Windows 11 so I never really wanted him to have to use it anyway).
He's staying on 8.1 for now, but is very security-conscious so probably won't want to stay massively long.
So my question is: since I saw on one of these threads that you can install Windows Server 2012 updates on 8, how easy is it, and how do I do it?
If not, I'm going to try to put 10 on his computer (already tried once, but it literally got to 10 then reversed everything. Damn it, MS.
Anyway, thanks for reading.
