Install on GPT disk and System Reserve questions

Hi, I am wondering if it is the same procedure to install Windows 8 consumer preview on a GPT formatted disk as it is in Windows 7.

In Windows 7 GPT I just need to make the 3 partitions: EFI, MSR, and the Storage.

But in Windows 8 there is an extra partition when installed on a GPT disk by default, a Recovery partition.

What is the Recovery partition for?

How can I make the recovery partition in diskpart with 4k offset?

Like:
Type Create Partition <name of recovery partition> Size=300 Align=4096, press Enter
Type Format Quick FS=NTFS, press Enter

This is what I have so far without the recovery partition.

  1. Type Diskpart, press Enter
  2. Type List Disk , press Enter
  3. Type Select Disk # (where # is the number your drive shows up as), press Enter
  4. Type Clean, press Enter
  5. Type Convert GPT, press Enter
  6. <waiting for recovery partition info>
  7. <waiting for recovery partition info>
  8. Type Create Partition EFI Size=100, press Enter
  9. Type Format Quick FS=FAT32, press Enter
  10. Type Create Partition MSR Size=128, press Enter
  11. Type Create Partition Primary, press Enter
  12. Type Format Quick FS=NTFS, press Enter
  13. Type Exit, press Enter

Also, what is the downfalls of not creating the system reserve partition for Windows 8 in general? I know in windows 7 it was just a back up of the boot files and needed for bit-locker and dynamic disks or something, is it the same as windows 7 or is there more? What is it used for exactly in Windows 8?

Thanks :D

Not sure at all because I never played around with that ever, but my guess is the 300 MB recovery partition is the "system" partition where Windows installs its boot files (bootmgr) and folder (holding bcd).
