How to Turn On or Off Phone Numbers in Modern Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1

EXAMPLE: Clickable Phone Numbers in Modern Internet Explorer 11
OPTION ONE
To Turn On or Off Phone Numbers in Modern IE11 in Options
1. Open the modern IE11 from your Start screen.
2. While in modern IE11, open the Charms bar, and click/tap on Settings.
3. In Settings, click/tap on Options, and do step 4 or 5 below for what you would like to do. (see screenshot below)
4. To Turn On Phone Numbers in your Modern IE11
A) In Options under Phone numbers, move the slider to the right to turn it on, and go to step 6 below. (see screenshot below step 6)
5. To Turn Off Phone Numbers in your Modern IE11
A) In Options under Phone numbers, move the slider to the left to turn it off, and go to step 6 below. (see screenshot below step 6)
6. When finished, you can click/tap on an empty area in IE11 to close the Options flyout.
OPTION TWO
To Turn On or Off Phone Numbers in Modern IE11 using a REG File
NoteThe .reg files below are for the registry key and value below.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FormatDetection
PhoneNumberEnabled DWORD
0 = Turn off Phone Numbers in IE
1 = Turn on Phone Numbers in IE
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FormatDetection
PhoneNumberEnabled DWORD
0 = Turn off Phone Numbers in IE
1 = Turn on Phone Numbers in IE
1. Do step 2 or 3 below for what you would like to do.
2. To Turn On Phone Numbers in your Modern IE11
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.
Turn_On_Phone_Numbers_Modern_IE11.reg
3. To Turn Off Phone Numbers in your Modern IE11
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.
Turn_Off_Phone_Numbers_Modern_IE11.reg
4. Save the REG file to your desktop.
5. Double click/tap on the downloaded REG file to merge it.
6. Click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK when prompted to approve the merge.
7. When finished, you can delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
