How to Turn On or Off Enterprise Mode for Sites in Internet Explorer 11

Enterprise Mode, a compatibility mode that runs on Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 8.1 Update and Windows 7 devices, lets websites render using a modified browser configuration that’s designed to avoid the common compatibility problems associated with web apps written and tested on older versions of Internet Explorer, like Internet Explorer 8 and older.

This tutorial will show you how to turn on and off Enterprise Mode for sites in Internet Explorer 11 for your account in Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 Update.

Windows 8.1 Update will be released on April 8th 2014 via Windows Update.
Enterprise Mode is only available for the desktop Internet Explorer in Windows 8.1 Update. It is not available in the modern Internet Explorer.
When you turn on Enterprise Mode for a website, that website will always be viewed in Enterprise Mode in the desktop IE11 whenever you open that site until you turn Enterprise Mode off for the site.
Enterprise Mode is only available for the desktop Internet Explorer in Windows 8.1 Update. It is not available in the modern Internet Explorer.
When you turn on Enterprise Mode for a website, that website will always be viewed in Enterprise Mode in the desktop IE11 whenever you open that site until you turn Enterprise Mode off for the site.

OPTION ONE
Turn On or Off Enterprise Mode for Sites from Tools Menu
1. If not already, an administrator must first enable users to be able to turn on and off Enterprise Mode in IE11.
2. While the site is open in the desktop IE11, click/tap on the Tools menu (Alt +T), and click/tap on Enterprise Mode to check (turn on) or uncheck (turn off) it. (see screenshot below)
OPTION TWO
Turn On or Off Enterprise Mode for Sites from F12 Developer Tools
1. If not already, an administrator must first enable users to be able to turn on and off Enterprise Mode in IE11.
2. While the site is open in the desktop IE11, press the F12 key to open F12 Developer Tools.
NOTE: On some laptops, you may need to press the FN + F12 keys instead.
3. Click/tap on the Emulation
icon, select Enterprise (turn on) or Desktop (turn off) in the Browser profile drop down menu under the Mode section. (see screenshot below)

4. When finished, you can press the F12 or FN + F12 keys again to close F12 Developer Tools.
