Dark black text shows up fine in ads etc. But not in text boxes or news stories that Iwant to read. In those areas it's hard to read because it's a light silverish gray color.
Any ideas on how I can darken the text in news stories and text boxes?

You have 3 options:

1. Use a high contrast theme for the OS. Then it will show like in the pictures below.

2. Use Chrome with the high contrast plug-in.

3. Copy the text into e.g. a Word document.

I had a similiar problem after turning off a UXstyles Dark theme. I had to switch to a Windows default theme in personalization and run:
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup&sfc/scannow&Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth&sfc/scannow&pause
in an Admin Command Prompt and reboot to fix it.

THANK YOU
I changed it from Unsaved Theme to Windows Default Theme and it's normal again. I just don't remember changing theme or installing a third party program that would change it.
THANK YOU AGAIN:dinesh::dinesh::dinesh:

Your welcome pcRat.
Sometimes the system has hiccups, specially, if it was in the middle of doing it's scheduled maintenance and got interrupted, and then shutdown before it can end it.
