Ideas for MS to Change Windows Visually for the Better

I was thinking about this when looking for a new icon for my desktop. Over the years windows has gone through many changes and outlooks. BUT nobody has ever redesigned the windows 'classic' icons - they are still as mouldy and tired as they ever were. Your suggestions?

1. Update old icons

Sssshhh. Whilst I'm not against the idea of new icons, they'll probably give us more of those stupid flat two-colour 'modern' icons that I hate with a passion.

I don't care for those icons. Microsoft need's to give us some modernized 3-D icons. They also, need to get what they name thing's straight, instead of confusing everybody. First it's My Computer. Then they drop their fascination with My in Vista, 7 and 8. Now in 8.1, it's This PC. Just like Xbox Music and Video completely suck. Both need to be done away with. They need to come out with updated versions of Windows Media Player & Windows Media Center. Both are superior to the Xbox crap they gave us.I'm really hoping what I heard about Windows 8.1 Update 2 isn't true. If they make it to where 3rd party start menu's no longer work. They can kiss this customer since Windows 3.1 goodbye to Ubuntu or another version of Linux.
