Is there some sort of idle time setting on this forum that would log me out?

I have logged in but am then doing things that mean I am not always actively moving about the forum (e.g. running reports, checking on another laptop etc.). Then when I come back to the forum and try to post something, I find I am no longer logged in.

Anything I can do to stop this?

I never let anything save passwords and I never check 'Remember Me' boxes.

Also I never have any cleaner running that I don't know about. Maybe I should change my name to paranoid :D

This seems to happen when I have logged in but then not been active on the site for a while, hence my wondering if there is some automatic logout after an idle period.

Yep, without the "Remember me" box checked, you will be automatically logged out when the site times you out after being inactive for X amount of minutes.

Well today I was logged into the forum but inactive for maybe a couple of hours, but didn't get logged out, so it seems the 'Remember Me' setting change does the job. As I have firefox set to delete all cookies on exit I don't have any cookies showing on CCleaner when I look at the settings you highlighted David.

But, for now at least, the problem is solved for me!
